HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE SESSION

DO’S

  • Hydration & food: Come to the session after a light breakfast. Drink plenty of water before and during the session. Bring snacks and food with you - especially if it's a full day appointment. We can take a food break anytime you need during the session. It's good to have something sweet in case of a sugar drop.

  • Rest: Come to the session well rested. Not getting enough sleep will increase the body's response to pain and you’ll be more irritated.

  • Massage: If you are preparing for long, demanding sessions, it is recommended to get a deep tissue massage 2-4 times (depending on how tense the area is) before the sessions. Tense muscles can increase the pain while tattooing.

  • Clothes: Dress comfortably and appropriately to ensure good access to the tattooed body part. Dark, loose clothes are the best option. Remember about shorts if we’ll be tattooing the leg, tank top if the arm, a front-zip shirt if we're going to be working on the back and you'll feel more comfortable with your front covered. I will appreciate dark, plain clothes that will look better in the photos we will take at the end.

  • Comfort: If you are sensitive to stimuli, consider bringing earplugs or earphones with your favourite music, eye mask, warm socks and layers, a book or something to squeeze.

  • Multiple day sessions: With multiple-days-in-a-row sessions consider taking aescin/escin (chestnut extract) a week prior to the session to help your body with handling an inflammation. If your body reacts strongly to tattooing, it might be helpful to take anti inflammatory pills (ibuprofen/paracetamol) during the process. Whether or not to take the substances mentioned above is your personal decision.

DON'TS

  • Don't drink alcohol before the session - diluted blood might make your skin impossible to tattoo without blowouts so i really don't recommend trying it out

  • Don’t come to the session hungover or after a sleepless night - your body will be way more sensitive to stimuli then which means that the process will be more painful.

  • Don't take any painkillers or numbing agents without consulting it first. I am not against these products but they have to be used properly and I need to know about it to inform you about possible side effects on the tattoo. If you consider using any products, contact me.
