Monika Malewska is a professional tattooer and illustrator born in 1991 in Poland. Currently, lives and creates in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Tattooing since 2014, she has been actively gaining experience in studios all over Poland and Europe. Her works, best known for their oneiric, surreal feeling, are often described as dark mysticism. Creating custom, personalized tattoos was her goal since the very beginning, and she is consequently following this path.

Monika has been drawing since early childhood, creating her first commissioned portraits as early as in the age of 17. Now, along with tattooing, she is creating illustrations that take the viewer into surreal, dreamlike, monochrome worlds. She also actively explores mediums such as writing, photography and various crafts connected with the use of paper.

Dreams, visions, beliefs serve as her main inspiration as they all speak a language of symbols and are a bridge between human mind and soul. Careful observation of the world and people allows her to ground herself in reality and has an increasing influence on her work.

Graduated from Architecture and Urban Planning in Technical University of Bialystok.
