Monika Malewska, born 1991 in eastern Poland, currently lives and creates in Reykjavik, Iceland.

She is a professional tattooist with 11 years of experience. Her works, best known for their oneiric, surreal feeling, are often described as dark mysticism. Creating custom, personalised tattoos was her gole since the day one and she is consequently following this path. 

Monika has been drawing since early childhood, creating first commission portraits as early as in the age of 17. Now, she is working on multiple personal projects, that takes the viewer into surreal, dreamlike, monochrome worlds. 

As a full time artist, she also actively explores mediums such as writing, photography and various crafts connected with the use of paper.

Dreams, visions, beliefs serve as her main inspiration as they all speak a language of symbols and are a bridge between human mind and soul. Careful observation of the world and people allows her to ground herself in reality and has an increasing influence on her work.

Graduated from Architecture and Urban Planning in Technical University of Bialystok.
